my 1 year old is growing her back teeth and cries everytime I put her to bed. she has never been one for crying unless she was in alot of pain. I tried everything I could think off, while waiting for her pain killers to kick in. In the end I made her face me for eye contact and talked to her in a low voice, asking her what the matter was, telling her it will be okay. she calmed down a little and I talked to her some more. I then turned and walked out of the room, and she settled down

"I can vividly remember the three worst days I had with my son and they all revolved around him crying. I can't remember exactly when or how old he was but I can clearly describe what happened and how I felt"

"My son just seemed to cry constantly for the first three months. Some days I would just walk around in a daze"

"There where some days I just had to put my crying son in his cot and close the door. I just needed to be away from the continuous noise. I'd even put some music on to drown out the noise - just for a minute"

"I struggled with getting my daughter to settle in her own cot both during the night and the day. She just seemed to want to be near to me all the time. As soon as I put her down, even if she was asleep, she'd wake up crying and refuse to settle until I picked her up again! I was beginning to find this exhausting when a friend recommended that I try a Slumber Bear, a soft velour teddy bear that plays sounds like those that your baby heard in the womb. What a miracle - it just seemed to reassure my daughter and helped her to settle without needing me to be there all the time!"
