Sweet & sour pork

Mix together cooked pork, diced or minced, cooked mashed apple and sultanas and then cover with a portion of gravy. Serve with rice. Puree or mash according to the age of your baby.

Egg florentine

Always ensure that the egg is cooked thoroughly so that both the yolk and white are firm.
Add cooked spinach to a portion of home made cheese sauce and stir. (You could also use ready made cheese sauce from Cow & Gate.) Top with some hardboiled egg. Puree or mash according to the age of your baby.

Vegetable shepherd's pie

Mix cooked red lentils, carrots, peas and parsnips with a portion of gravy. Top with mashed potato mixed with a little grated cheese and serve. Puree or mash according to the age of your baby.

Vegetable salad

Add cooked, chopped new potatoes, peas, carrots and french beans to some home made cheese sauce and chill. (You could also use ready made cheese sauce from Cow & Gate.) Puree or mash according to the age of your baby.

Lamb and vegetable dinner

Pour gravy over cooked lamb. Serve with cooked suede and potatoes. Puree or mash according to the age of your baby.

Lentil casserole

Makes approximately 4 to 6 portions. This recipe is NOT suitable for freezing.
50g/2oz green or brown lentils, washed
750 ml/1 ¼ pint boiling water
25g/1oz long grain rice
25g/1oz sultanas
50g/2oz frozen sliced green beans
1 stick celery, finely chopped
1 medium carrot, peeled and finely chopped
75g/3oz canned tomatoes
90ml/3floz usual baby milk
25g/1oz margarine

  1. Wash the lentils and place in a large saucepan.
  2. Boil lentils vigorously for 15 minutes.
  3. Add the rice, sultanas and vegetables. Bring to a gentle boil, cover and simmer for a further 20 minutes. Stir in your baby's usual milk and margarine. Simmer for a further 5 minutes.
  4. Allow to cool then mash or puree according to the age of your child.

Fish & Greens

  • 1 piece of boneless and skinless white fish such as cod
  • Broccoli
  • Green Beans
  • Sugar Snap peas
  • 2 oz Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Flour
  • 3 oz Cheese
  • 6 fl oz Milk (plus enough to cover the fish)
Poach the fish in milk. Steam all vegetables together.
Make a white sauce by putting butter into a saucepan then adding flour to make a roux.
Whisk in the measured milk and add the cheese. Remove from heat.
Flake the fish into the sauce, combine the vegetables and blend.
My daughter Erin love fish and really enjoys getting her Omega 3 from this recipe

Brainy Mash

  • Boiled and mashed potatoes
  • Fillet of salmon
  • 1 small red pepper quartered and deseeded
  • 1 small red onion quartered
Method
Place the red onion and pepper onto a sheet of foil, lie the salmon on top. Fold foil over and seal edges.
Roast at 180c for approx 15 mins. Remove salmon and flake, checking for bones.
Blend with onion, pepper and mashed potato.

SLEEPLESS @ 4 MONTHS
HIYA

my son is 20 weeks old. allthough im not breastfeeding he was wakeing thow the night alot.
the dummy was the best thing for him as sometimes it wasnt hunger it was comfort he needed. so a dummy and a bam bam.

now it is hunger so i give him a bowl of porridge before bed and it seems to have worked
