Top Tip: Do not forget to prepare your camera for the event. Here are some great photography tips. Camping in the UK is such an experience, imagine transferring that abroad. The children love the freedom of sleeping under canvas, playing outside till dark! and the lovely peaceful nights you get when they go to sleep and you can sit up looking at the stars. If this sounds wonderful perhaps it is worth considering the car and a ferry as a way to get you to warmer foreign climes. Below is the feedback we've received from one of our visitors who found that this option worked very well. Your Views on camping abroad "A trip to Spain need not be a nightmare of flights, buggies and too much luggage. We've travelled with our twin boys when they were babies on an over night ferry and found it a very good way to travel. As you are taking your car you can fill it full of the home comforts and essentials such as food, nappies, toys. There is also plenty to do on board, including children's entertainment, cinema, swimming pool, several restaurants plus evening cabaret shows. There was even a doctor on board to advise us when the babies developed spots on the way back (luckily nothing serious) But I would recommend getting a 4 berth cabin in the upper levels as you can hear the engines lower down. We had a really relaxing time and it was the perfect start to the holiday."
"The combination of being able to fill the car full of luggage, travelling times to suit what was best for the family, a fantastic resort with enough facilities to keep everyone entertained and very comfortable caravan accommodation meant our camping holiday in France last year was the best family holiday we've had!" "When my friend suggested a camping holiday abroad I have to say that I wasn't convinced. When we looked at the resorts and accommodation however I decided that it was something we should try. One of the best aspects was being able to choose to travel on the days that suited us the best and at times that worked for the family. No getting up in the middle of the night for a 6.00am flight!!! Another fantastic bonus was being able to go abroad in the school holidays without spending a fortune - 2 adults and 3 children for 10 days in August for under £1000, brilliant!" "With 4 children, holidays abroad can be very expensive and finding accommodation that's big enough for the six of us is not always easy! Not if you choose to camp! By camping I mean a luxury mobile home, a campsite with two swimming pools, children's clubs and good restaurants. We can all pile into the car with boot and roof rack full to the brim. We always try to make the journey part of the holiday and have found taking an overnight ferry works really well too!" |
