It is a small, secluded resort with its own trout lake ('lochan'), and is situated close to Loch Garten where magnificent Ospreys can be seen nesting each spring. The resort is also conveniently placed for the Cairngorm ski slopes, with the tourist centre of Aviemore just a short distance away Accommodation is based in one or two bed Scandinavian pine chalets that sleep 4 and 6 respectively. All have a fully fitted kitchen and lounge/dining area with colour TV and video. Most also have their own conservatory. |

According to site visitor Lucy Davidson, these are the Highland areas to visit with a young family for "fresh air, freedom and exercise". Approx 70 miles north of Glasgow you'll find these areas of outstanding natural beauty near Ben Nevis and Fort William. There's plenty to see and lots of local campsites. Probably best to visit in the Summer months unless you're all keen skiers! For more information contact the Tourist Information Office at Fort William on 01397 703781. |
