While the average menstrual cycle is about 28 days
not all women are "average"!
In order to maximise your chances of getting pregnant it is helpful to understand a bit more about your menstrual
cycle so you know when your most fertile period is likely to be. The average menstrual cycle is 28 days but for many
women this is not the case.
Follow the steps on these pages to help you learn more about your cycle and understand when you are at your most fertile
and most likely to conceive.

1. Put the start date of your period on the calendar.

3. Count back 14 days to find the approximate date of your ovulation.
You can now begin to get a feel of the length of the first phase of your cycle which leads up to
ovulation.

4. This is the phase than can be vary between women. In this example the length
of the first phase is 16 days.

5. To get a real picture of your cycle, it is a good idea to track in this way
for several more periods.
