The Lion King

Lion King

When an invitation was offered to me to see the Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre in London, I was thrilled. It is one of shows that I have wanted to see with the children for a while.

The children were so excited the night before, and Graham read them the Lion King story to remind them of the characters names in the show. I think they bored everyone at school that day about going to the Theatre.

We travelled by train to London, which the children love doing, it was a bit busy as it was rush hour but they coped really well. When we arrived to collect our tickets the theatre was packed and full of expectant excitement.

The show started and we sat watching the giraffes move smoothly across the stage and then the isles were full of wonderful characters walking up to the stage. It was fantastic. Charlotte loved the baby elephant and they were mesmerised from that moment on.

Lion King

The show is spectacular, the music brilliant and lot's of wonderful characters. I particularly liked the humour for the adults in the show. The children were having such a wonderful time and I loved watching their little faces light up with wonder and amazement. James in particular liked the "botty" jokes, right up an 8 year olds street they were!.

Charlotte loved the birds flying around the theatre and she was spinning on her dad's lap to take it all in.

The Lion King is a truly wonderful evening of entertainment, and if you have young children this show is a "must see". The children are still talking about their trip and loved every minute of it. What an absolutely fabulous way to start the summer holidays.

To quote James "I love the animals, especially the giraffes and Simba"

I loved the wonderful music, the sound was breathtaking and the dancing was exciting and very powerful.

You will be hard pushed to find a better day out for your family - simply wonderful!
