"I had a really nice catalogue in the post recently from a company called Party Pieces who sell themed and unthemed party decorations, tableware, balloons, games, party bag presents and some gifts. The themes are: farmyard (my favourite), Persian princess, Disney princess, pirates, Bob the Builder, dinosaurs, Thomas the Tank Engine, Fimbles, under the sea, little pony, fairies, football, action man, x-treme fun, Barbie, ballet, tiny tots, winnie the pooh, jungle, space, grand prix and spiderman, so you can see there's a really good selection to choose from. I'm probably going to use them for my daughter's 2nd birthday at the end of this month.

For more information visit their website at www.partypieces.co.uk or and phone 01635 201844."

"www.partybox.co.uk.....used it, recommended it. Reasonably priced and quick, accurate service."

"www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies has a great Birthday's section. You can make you own Andy Pandy invitations or go into 'Party Packs' to recieve party planning information you can print off your PC, including placemats to colour in. You choose from Yoho Ahoy, Tweenies, or Bill and Ben."

"Inflate large brightly coloured balloons, and write the invitation details on them with felt-tip pen. deflate the balloons, put them in envelopes, and deliver them"

"If you are bored of the run of the mill Supermarket birthday cakes go and check out your local bakers as they often sell birthday cakes. You can also buy cakes through www.jane-asher.co.uk (gorgeous cakes but a bit pricey) and www.mariascakes.co.uk (they'll create a cake with any of your favourite characters)."
