April
April has arrived, and we are still getting snow. When is spring going to arrive? I had a lovely Mother's Day with the children, we went away to Southampton and stayed in a very nice hotel (using vouchers to pay for it!!). We took my parents for a lovely weekend, we got up each morning and went into the hotel pool and jacuzzi before having a very large breakfast. The purpose of the trip was to visit HMS Victory. We had a fantastic day, despite the rain, but the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is a fabulous day out. In fact you probably need two days to see it all, we did not get around everything and we were there all day. James and Charlotte thoroughly enjoyed their new interactive Action Stations. We watched their film on the roles in the Royal Navy, James was mesmerised, but Charlotte fell asleep! I don't know how she did as it was a very loud film, but really good. We also were dragged by the boys to the see the Mary Rose. I must admit I was not very interested at first to see a bit of wood. How wrong was I, it is half a ship! Absolutely incredible to think they raised it of the sea bed - well worth a visit. On the morning of Mother's Day we went down for breakfast and the children gave me their cards and presents in the restaurant. There were lots of happy mums that morning and it was lovely to be away from home. The holidays have whizzed past and Easter will be gone before I know it and it will be back to school and rushing around to clubs and friends. Enjoy the days with your baby, when you are in control of your time, well maybe a little dictated too by what your baby needs, but it is a time to savour if you can. Unitl next month, take care and Very best wishes,
