Legoland Windsor
What a lovely picture of London, but is it? Look closely and you will see that the picture is made of lego. The mini village at Legoland is amazing. My children were running from one display to another. James was chasing the trains and trying to work out where they would appear next. Charlotte wanted to climb over the fence and have a play. James loved the rocket area and if there was a kit in the shop for this I would have been under a lot of pressure.
My parents, Ken and Wendy, came with us to Legoland on 21st May. There was a special event happening that weekend, with a focus on Fifi and the Flowertots. The main reason we went on this weekend was that Charlotte loves Fifi! However, I messed up and did not realise that we needed to visit a particular area to make our mini garden and see Fifi, so we missed her, but we did manage to make a Lego flower and plant it in the garden. I am still not sure if I am forgiven.
The park was quite busy, but not unpleasantly so. We toured around the park, stopping at every attraction, yet we still missed so much.
The children were particularly keen to get their driving licences, so I queued with James and Charlotte was with her Dad. Being different ages, meant two queues! James was very good and managed to stay on his side of the road most of the time. Charlotte was just really pleased that she did not crash. They loved the cars and it was great to see them achieve with their driving licences.
Around lunchtime we watched the show, which was spectacular. Unfortunately, it was raining at the time, but the children did not seem to mind too much. After this we went to the Castle. It was great to walk up into it to join a queue for the roller coaster ride. We were in the queue when my Mum said, "so what are we doing now", it was then she realised it was a queue for the ride!! However, my Mum joined in the spirit of the day and the children loved sharing this "scarry" moment with her. Charlotte was a little frightened, but loved it and just kept saying "hold on to me Mummy!". I had no intention of not holding!
At the end of the day our last port of call was the fire engines. Graham and I had to pump the engine along, jump out, pump another pump, so that the children could operate the hoses and put the fires out. Some friends know that I can be "quite" competitive and this was no exception. We were in a race against three other engines and I was determined to win and I must say we did! and I loved every minute of it. My Mum and Dad said it was very funny to watch and it made a brilliant end to a fabulous day. We finished up at the shop and treated the children to a present. Two very tired parents, two very tired grandparents and very tired children headed home and slept extremely well all night.
Thank you Legoland for a wonderful day out and we hope to visit again soon. To see more about Legoland Windsor visit their website at www.legoland.co.uk |
