Cot Death
Apparently a fifth of babies are being put at risk of cot death, often due to concerns over "flat head syndrome", experts say. The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths poll say the figure has doubled since six years ago. A failure to put babies on their backs increases the danger of cot death by nine times. The advice however is that this flat head syndrome, or plagiocephaly, can be avoided with lot's of tummy time, or placing your baby on their fronts to play. We are interested to hear from you about this, are you avoiding following the current guidelines to reduce cot death by laying your child on their back all the time?
