Young Mothers
I read an article in the Daily Mail on 26th June about some research that had been carried out in the US from census and information from genealogical records to reconstruct the family trees of almost 200 centenarians. The findings are saying that the secrets of a long and healthy life could be as simple as your mother's age at the time of your birth. I immediately thought how old was my mum and she was only 24 when she had my sister and me. So, according to the survey babies born to women under 25 are almost twice as likely to live to 100 as those born to older mothers. Well, if you read the current trend, which is almost half of the 720,000 babies born each year are born to mothers aged 30-plus. Of which, I must say I was one of them. I was 33 years old when I had James. I did not delay having him my body did! I would love to see what you think about this issue? They are suggesting that the egg quality is better when we are younger, and that as a younger mother we have less time to pick-up conditions and infections.
