With the arrival of May I started to think about my holidays. We have booked to go away with Canvas Holidays this year in Brittany, France.

I booked way back in January and thought it is a long way off, but it has come around so quickly, especially now the balance is due!

I love my holiday with my children, it is a great time to spend with them doing all the things we love doing, visiting the beach and rock pools, swimming, eating outside and just enjoying each others company.

Last year we went to Portugal and enjoyed a fantastic experience of swimming with the dolphins. It was a dream of mine and my husband and I decided that as the children were now old enough to enjoy watching we would have a go. Unfortunately they were not old enough to take part, I think they had to be over 8 years to take part.

The children loved seeing them up close and I loved swimming with them. What they say is true they truly are incredible creatures. Each year my husband and I like to try something different on holiday, it has been a little difficult in the last fews years with the little people to consider, so we try to give them new experiences instead, and as they are getting older it is something we can all share in. James tried snorkling in the sea with his dad, and Charlotte was happy building sand castles.

With summer coming our way I would love to hear from you about exciting and different things you have done. Perhaps this is the first time on holiday with your child, or you have planned something different and regretted it. Let me know your experiences and I will try and share them with others.

I am not sure what we will do this year, we are going away with friends and they may not share my need for a bit of excitement!. We have planned a "secret" visit to DisneyLand, so don't tell the children!!!!
