November

I promise no frightening pictures this month.

I am now getting prepared for Bonfire Night and looking forward to it very much. I love the smokey atmosphere and loud bangs. When James was a new baby I missed all the excitement as I was concerned about him and how he would react to the noises. He was however fine, indoors, I would not take him out the first year as he was only 2 months old.

This year will see us at the Rugby club, with muddy boots and gloves. Wrap up warm and be safe, and don't forget the animals.

Christmas is creeping up on us and I am starting to get prepared. I am really looking forward to our first Christmas in the new house. I have had to buy a smaller tree this year as the lounge is a lot smaller. The children are already getting excited and the list of "I wants" grows daily. I do miss being totally in control of present buying like when they were babies, you lose that when they get older.

Charlotte and I went to see Princess on Ice at Wembley Arena. It was a fabulous show and Charlotte loved the skating combined with the Princesses, a really lovely treat and recommended to everyone.

Until next month, keep safe and enjoy bonfire night,

Very best wishes,

Editor

Sleepless nights
HELP!!!

Our 14 month old son has, for the last 3 weeks, woke during the night crying. Since then we are only getting about 2 hours sleep a night and we are absolutely exhausted.(his cot is our room and previous to this he was a great sleeper.) The only thing that settles him is letting him sleep with us . I know this can be dangerous and we dont actually get any sleep as we are so scared that we will suffocate him. On a health vistors advice, we tried controlled crying which was very difficult and upsetting for us all. Even after 3-4 hours of crying he still wouldnt settle and it would wake our other 2 older children. Having spoken to a different H.V since, they have suggested that we wont solve the matter unless our son is sleeping in another room away from us. we only have a 3 bedroom house so he will have to share a room with his 12 year old brother. Does anyone have any views if this may work?
