
Cot Death
With new research from America, it seems that Cot Death may be caused by a treatable genetic brain disorder. This tragic condition, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is a mysterious condition that terrifies parents and kills around 300 babies every year in the UK. With the jigsaw puzzle being gradually pieced together, a team of experts in the US who say they have uncovered strong evidence that victims have a brain abnormality. Apparently, it seems that some babies cannot tell when there is not enough oxygen in the bloodstream - leaving them much more vulnerable to being smothered. For many this may bring relief, but for those who have been affected by SIDS, the research may have come too late for their circumstances, however, new research may help those affected to deal with the trauma.
