Depression in pregnancy
Depression during pregnancy could be nearly as common as 'baby blues' after the birth. As many as one in seven new mothers experiences depression after the birth of her child. But research suggests up to one in ten expectant mothers can suffer 'ante-natal depression'. Depression before, during and after pregnancy is becoming more recognised - and about time. I strongly believe that our lives are so different from our mothers and grandmothers that this condition can so easily be dismissed - pull yourself together rings a familiar bell! Let us know what you think about the research and share your stories with others.
