Feb - In Touch

February 2008

Dear Members

With January now quickly behind us, February the month of LOVE is here. I always approach February with mixed feelings, as I ponder whether to keep reminding my husband that Valentine's Day is nearly here or not. It would be nice not to feel that I need to remind him, but then I also think, do I really need a card to tell me that he loves me.

The other surprise is my children who have both notified me that they wish to send cards to their "friends" at school. Is it just a bit of fun? or am I going to start something by allowing them to send cards. It's not that I have a problem with the card sending but I am still recovering from sending Christmas cards.

James has told me he only needs 4 cards - FOUR!!! I thought my boy only had eyes for his mum. Who are these girls?

But when Charlotte told me she needs 6 it did not get the same reaction from me! I just thought great my little girl has some boy admirers - their mum's are probably saying what I said above!!!

This is also a Leap Year and I look forward to hearing any stories about proposals on the 29th and if they get accepted. It is also National Marriage Week from 7-14th February.

With a month of love, hearts and emotional stories upon us, I hope you have a great time.
Very best wishes,

Editor

Sleepless nights
HELP!!!

Our 14 month old son has, for the last 3 weeks, woke during the night crying. Since then we are only getting about 2 hours sleep a night and we are absolutely exhausted.(his cot is our room and previous to this he was a great sleeper.) The only thing that settles him is letting him sleep with us . I know this can be dangerous and we dont actually get any sleep as we are so scared that we will suffocate him. On a health vistors advice, we tried controlled crying which was very difficult and upsetting for us all. Even after 3-4 hours of crying he still wouldnt settle and it would wake our other 2 older children. Having spoken to a different H.V since, they have suggested that we wont solve the matter unless our son is sleeping in another room away from us. we only have a 3 bedroom house so he will have to share a room with his 12 year old brother. Does anyone have any views if this may work?
