Which? Junk Food Campaign
Sorry!they have all gone.... This promotion was very successful and those of you quick of the mark reserved your bags in record time, however the campaign is still valid and needs your support.Go online at www.which.co.uk/ Bag yourself some healthy style this SpringEncouraging your family to eat healthily should be child’s play, but with increasingly sophisticated marketing tactics for foods high in fat, salt and sugar targeting kids from all angles, parents can often find themselves embroiled in a daily battle of wills. This spring, Which? is encouraging people across the country to make it known that junk food marketing to children is simply ‘not their bag’ and pledge their support for this important campaign.
With recent reports predicting that by 2050 70% of girls and 55% of boys will be overweight or obese, the need for action has never been greater. Which? is calling on the government to introduce restrictions on junk food advertising, including a 9pm watershed for TV advertising in a bid to curb the ever increasing hard sell tactics used to lure children into eating unhealthily. Putting an end to child-orientated marketing of foods that are high in fat, salt and sugar may not be the silver bullet to save the nation’s health, but it will go some way to addressing the complex issue.
