I have had 3 previous sections 2 of which were emergencys I am having another one on the 4th of January I much prefare to have sections over a normal delivery its nothing to worry about as long as your little one is well.

I went through 19 hours of labour to be told I needed an emergency section as I got stuck at 8cms, my 1st baby born 14months ago was 9lb 5, and I have a small frame!! I'm now 8 months pregnant with my second child and been told this one is above the bigger baby line already, my first scan showed I was 14 weeks gone which tied in with our dates but when I went for another at 22 weeks this showed the baby was only the size of a 19 week feutus, I still feel about 35 weeks gone although I've been told I'm only 32 weeks gone. I want to opt for a section as I'd like an unrushed birth so everything is more relaxed instead of going the emergency way where I don't even get to hold my baby first (my husband was the first to cuddle our daughter) but I'm scared because I know how uncomfortable and sore it actually is after the op..my daughter was horrendously swollen when she was born due to the prolonged labour, and I don't want me to be right that I am further on than what the hospital has said and I go into lab our before the day of my section as then nothing will go nice and planned it will be another big rush and probably another badly swollen baby at the end of it which I'd rather not put this one through if it can't be helped, any opinions?

I won't lie, it was very uncomfortable, I was sick as soon as they'd finished stitching me up, it wasnt very pleasant at all, I couldn't do anything for days or weeks, I couldn't even sneeze or cough without it hurting to the point where I was reduced to tears, but do you know what? It was worth every minute for the beautiful little boy I now have.

Lou

Is it absolutely necessary to have a Caesarian section at 38 weeks ? I would like baby to come when he is ready and not have an elective caearian at 38 weeks. It is my second baby and I've had a c/section before however I went into labour with my first son and then they did a c/section.
