On this page we share the most recent experiences and advice of other mums who have experienced spotting and/or bleeding at various stages of their pregnancies.

Hi all, so glad I found this site and read that I'm not alone. found out last saturday that I was pregnant (home kit). Had it comfirmed by my Dr on Monday. On Wed, had some brownish spotting after passing urine but only when i wiped myself. Was taken in for an emergancy scan on Thurs. Midwife said everything was normal for being 6 weeks pregnant and that the brownish spotting was common in early pregnancy. When i arrived home that evening, started bleeding quite heavy with spasims in my lower abdomain. Seen my Dr that evening who spoke to midwife. Have got another scan on Mon to see if i have miscarried or not. Both my Dr and midwife are very confused as my scan was very positive with the pregnancy sack in a good position and had started to embed itself which was great news. They said that the spasims are common after an internal scan as at 6 weeks, (an abdominal scan will not detect your baby till at least 8 weeks) Although the spasims ceased after 2 hours, I'm still bleeding, almost as if I'm having a normal period. My husband and I have only sorted our heads out after I fell pregnant with our first child in Aug this year and had a miscarriage at 6 weeks. (exactally where I'm at now). I'm very scared and nervous at what we will happen on Mon although I'm expecting the worst I'm affraid. I hope everyone gets on ok and the best of luck for the future. Will let you all know how I get on on Mon.

I found out I am pregnant for the first time about four weeks ago. I am only nineteen but decided straight away I was going to keep the baby. Then I told my doctor and he put so many doubts in my mind which seemed very unprofessional as it just worried me and made me decide not to continue with the pregnancy. I went to tell my doctor this but afterwards I broke down in tears and just felt sick with myself. I decided to keep the baby and today I started bleeding, I am 6 weeks pregnant and my worse fear has always been miscarriage. Reading everyone else’s stories should reassure me but I don’t know what to do, should I wait and see what happens? I don’t want to go back to my doctor because I haven’t told him I changed my mind yet. I haven’t even told my mum because I’m at university and I know she’ll go mad but who am supposed to talk to? I cannot deal with miscarriage I don’t even know if I can deal with pregnancy. I forgot to mention I’ve had pains as well more like period pains than anything but I’ve had pains for ages before the bleeding started but I mentioned it to my doctor and I think he just ignored it because he assumed I wasn’t going to continue with the pregnancy. What do I do now?

I'm 35 and I'm 10 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. I started bleeding on Monday (brown/pinkish), went to the doctors and got a scan date for today (Thursday). I went for my scan (internal one and external one) and was told that my yolk/sack was there but she couldn't see any sign of the foetus. She asked if I was sure on my dates, which I'm 100% on, then I waited to see the doctor. The doctor (very understandingly) told me eventhing was as it should be, asked me lots of questions etc and told me I have to go back for a scan next week. I'm still bleeding fairly heavyily (brown/red) and of course I'm very concerned as my previous pregnancies were fine with no problems, has this happened to anyone else ? I know it's hard to answer but no-one seems to be able to tell me what's happening and why there's no sign of a foetus. Have to say finding this page has been more helpful than the hospitals/doctors so far - thank you and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this baby if there is one !!

Hi I'm 10 weeks pregnant and started bleeding yesturday. I've got no other symptoms but when I wipe there's brown blood and stringy clots. It's much worse when ive had a bowel movement. Ive been to the doctors but they cant get me in for a scan for 3 days. Just at home worrying till then. Really like to know what happened to kelley as her symptoms sound the same. Good luck girlys xx

I found your site thru Google, I am from the United States but when it comes to pregnancy we are all the same, with the same worries and feelings.

This is my twelfth pregnancy. Yes, my TWELFTH pregnancy! I have two living children and have lost nine babies due to miscarraige. I am 8w4d pregnant and have been bleeding since around 5 weeks. The bleeding has been brown and just a small amount when I wipe. Normally there isn't even enough to use a pantiliner.

I have had weekly ultrasounds and the baby is growing and progressing just fine. THe doctor said I have a subchorionic haematoma, a small blood clot in the uterus that is bleeding now and then.

The doctor said the vast majority of these haematomas correct themselves and that we can most likely expect a positive outcome of this pregnancy

I read this page from top to bottom on Friday, when I was nearly 6 weeks pregnant and having brown spotting (with the odd clot). I had an HCG blood test that afternoon and was going to have to wait 48 hours for another test. I was a bit frustrated to find that many women had posted their story at the same stage as me, and then never returned to tell us the final verdict, so I made up my mind to post my whole story when I knew the result.

On Saturday, my spotting turned into heavy bleeding, with plenty clots and lumps, and with pains, just like a heavy period. The verdict was now fairly predictable. It all continued on Sunday (yesterday), when I got my second blood test, and it continues even now (Monday). The results are back, and surprise surprise, I've had a miscarriage. The first result was 469 (pretty low) and the second was 145 (a big decrease). I have to go back this Friday for a final test, because they don't like to discharge women until their levels go down under 100.

just want to say that although I'm upset (both physically and emotionally) by this event, the scariest part of it is actually the word itself - miscarriage. The rest is not so bad. It's not much different from a heavy period, just a couple of weeks later than it should have been. For the short time I knew I was pregnant, I lived in fear of a miscarriage (just because I knew the chances are generally quite high), and now that it's happened, I know that it's not the end of the world. We got pregnant once - we can do it again. I know it must be much more traumatic further into the pregnancy, but certainly at this early stage (4 weeks after conception), it's just a fact of life, like some of your flower seeds not making it up through the soil.

The advice I've received is that the bleeding should start to decrease and won't last longer than 7-10 days. My next period will be in 4-6 weeks, and after that we can start trying again. Because I've had this miscarriage, they'll offer me an early scan at eight and a half weeks into my next pregnancy, just to check everything is ok.

So that's my story. Not the happy ending you want to hear, but not the tragedy you're terrified of either. So please try not to be scared.

I started bleeding at seven weeks, frantic as first pregnancy didnt know what to expect, light at first then bright red, went to docs, had to wait a full week for early pregnancy scan, this sickened me having to wait this long. in the meantime bleeding was easing all the time, only lasted three to four days, was not as heavy as a period either. everybody was telling me in the meantime, friends who have had miscarriages, you will be okay, not like mine, looked this site back to front, optimistic all the time. anyway been today and have had miscarriage, me and my husband gutted but been told there is no reason why cannot go on to have full term pregnancy, nothing wrong with us, we are not going to give up at the first hurdle. what i will say to everybody out there experiencing bleeding, dont be like me and think cause you have had no pain and no clots and not much bleeding that you will be okay. i thought that, but you dont have to have pain and clots to go with a miscarriage.

Keep positive and an open mind, not everybody has the obvious symptons. good luck everyone.

I hope this information helps someone out there.

I am 29 yrs old and fell pregnant for the 2nd time in oct this year. I had a normal previous pregnancy and a healthy baby boy who is now 4. this time however things werent so straightforward. at 8 weeks 6 days I had a faint brown discharge, spoke to the midwife and was told not to worry. at 9 weeks 3 days I went to the bathroom in the morning and wiped blood. naturally being very worried i rang primary care and went in. the doctor arranged for me to go to EPAU later on for a scan. the scan revealed the foetus was only 4 mm which was too small and didnt correlate with my dates. I had a feeling that it wasnt going to progress as i had stopped feeling sick all of a sudden and my breasts didnt feel tender anymore. anyway, I was sent home and another scan was booked exactly a week later ie: today. the bleeding carried on everyday, like a period without any pains. Today I went for the 2nd scan and as I had expected, the foetus had'nt grown. it looks like it stopped growing at 4 weeks. I have opted for a D&C for which I have to go in for tomorrow. the past week has been really difficult because I just wanted to know for certain. now I do I feel like I an get on with my life. the foetus never took shape of a baby so I don't feel attached to it.

Anyone experiencing any similar problems must remember that each pregnancy is unique and quite unpredictable and if a miscarriage happens at this stage then it is for a reason and better that it happens earlier rather than later. We will try again as soon as we can so wish us luck.

Samina.

I had a spotting experience with my current pregnancy and wanted to share my story with your readers. I found comfort in your forum during my spotting scare and wanted to add another uplifting and reassuring experience with you all. I began spotting at 6 weeks a brownish discharge that scared me to death every time I saw it. It was usually only on the TP when I wiped and only stained my undies once. It would disappear almost immediately after I had discovered it. At 6 weeks you could only see the gestational sac on the ultrasound, but at 8 weeks we finally saw our little bean. I continued to spot at least once a week until my eleventh week. My midwife had done a pelvic exam and noticed that my cervix was extremely friable (irritated/inflamed) due to a vaginal infection (bacterial vaginosis) and prescribed a vaginal antibiotic and on the last night of my treatment I spotted for the last time.

My midwife said that she was almost 100% certain that the source of my spotting was my cervix and that my pregnancy was no longer in danger. If my infection had gone untreated it would most likely have cause pre-term labor, so my advice is that even if you have no signs of an infection and are spotting go to your doctor or midwife and demand to be tested for an infection. You may be able to save your baby and put an end to the nightmare once and for all. I found out last week that we are to have a boy and we couldn't be happier!!! Good luck to you all!!!

I'm 5 weeks pregnant and yesterday I started with some pink and then brown discharge. This only happened when I went to urinate and I wiped myself that i would notice this. I was alarmed a little so I went to the ER. wHERE THEY TOLD ME I WAS BLEEDING FROM MY CERVIX. Also when given a sono I was told it was to early to tell if there is a baby. Asac can be seen but no heartbeat can be detected. I'm really scared today because i started to bleed some more, and I'm have slight cramping in my lower abdominal. I don't know what to expect or to do, this would be my fifth child and never have I experienced anything like this before.

I am due on my period next week, I'm very regular, I came off the pill 6 months ago, started 3 months ago ttc. The first four periods after coming off the pill were good, very regular, flow lasted 4 days, the last two periods lasted 2 days. Yesterday, Friday I woke up in the morning and had two brown blobs of old blood on the toilet paper and light cramping which lasted all day. Has anyone else had this ?

I am only four weeks pregnant. i fealt it from the begining my muscles tightning up and small cramps (which my nurse said was normal) my breasts got bigger and firmer. However, on sat morn, i was deaperate for the toilet and when i went it was painfull, doubled over i made my way to the couch and lay there for about 40mins untill the pain eased off, i went again to the toilet at 6.30am and noticed a spot of blood, as the day proceeded it got heavier and lighter agin it was bright red and no cloting. i was referd to the hospital that morn and was informed there was no one that could help me because im only 4 weeks gone. i was told if i felt worse to go the wishaw hospital which has our maternity unit.as the night went on i was in some pain and noticed small clotting, At 9pm that night my friends took me to wishaw where i was made to feel most un welcome and stupid, they too couldnt help me. I was told to go home take it easy, NOT TO WORRY, (Impossible). the earliest I can get hold of the early pregnancy clinic is tuesday, due to local bank holidays. I don't feel the same anymore but my breasts are still tender. I'm still bleeding and have to wear a pad.

I feel reasured with other peoples stories, but I don't know if im misscarrying, I suffer with anxiety and fear that if I've not already lost my baby, I might because of all the stress!

Hi everyone. First of all, it's very nice to have found this site. I took a pregnancy test just two days ago and then 2 more yesterday ( I just couldn't believe it). I am only about 4 weeks along. A couple of hours after testing yeterday, I started to bleed bright red. It wasn't very heavy. That lasted for a couple of hours and today, I have a brown discharge. I called the doctor and have an appointment for monday (4 days away). I just have a feeling that it is not going to be good news. It's nice to see that other women go through this. It's such an unsettling feeling. Good luck to everyone.

At 12 weeks I had a really heavy bleed of dark red blood. I went straight to A&E and was checked over, the cervix was closed and baby was fine when they scanned the next day. I went for a more in depth scan the day after and they said they could see a bleed and that might come away. Now at 15 weeks i have started to bleed again but this time its brown blood. Im so scared all the time what could it be? and why is it happening?

This site is so reassuring - none of the books really help - except to tell you to expect the worst. This is my 1st pregnancy. Sitting at home with my feet up and torturing myself with loo visits! I'm about 7 weeks pregnant. Have been bleeding for 4 days now. Went to A&E convinced I'd had a miscarriage and they couldn't detect a heartbeat. Had a hell of a night waiting and then next day had to go to clinic where they thankfully found a "healthy pregnancy sac and heartbeat". Was so relived. However bleeding has persisted and now not just happening after passing urine so I'm worried but they said this does happens with some women and there's no explanation why. Have 2 weeks and a day to wait to my next scan - fingers crossed. Just keep reassuring myself that I had "a positive scan and heatbeat!"

So pleased to have found this website. I am nearly 6 weeks, and have had a tiny bit of brownish spotting and have passed a couple of small clots with slight abdominal pain. Went to A and E, and they booked me in for an Ultra Sound. Here I was told the sac was present, the pregnancy was in the right place, but too early to detect the baby or a heart beat. I am praying things are going to be ok. The doctor has told me to take things steady and come back for another scan in 2 weeks. Love and good wishes to all of you.

I did ICSI on the 1/12/06 tested positive 14 days after on 14/12/06. Had excruciating back pain eith dark brown discharge on night of 14/12/06. More bleeding on 15/12/06. Did another pregnancy test and its positive. More bleeding with clots and slight abdominal pain from 15/12/06 till today 20/12/06. Talked to my nurse, asked to repaet pregnacy test on thur 22/12/06. What is happenning? Am hopeful as we have been waiting for 5 years. Please talk to me somebody.

I feel pregnant when i was 19 (2001). Eveything seemed to go ok until i had light bleeding when i as 10 weeks. A scan showed that everything was ok. At 16 weeks i went into early labour, i thought this was the end. The contractions slowed down and stopped and eveything again was ok. At 37 weeks i went into labour but did not deliver until 5 days later after being diagnosed with pre clampsia.

I feel pregant again last year and at 12 weeks went for my first scan. I was told by the midwife that they could not see anything and was referred to the early pregnancy unit. A scan showed that there was no heart beat and i had a D&C 1 week later. I had to signs what so ever that i had had a miscarriage and i have been told that i am now high risk. I am now 6 weeks pregnant again and really scared. I have scan booked in for 7th December but i am nervous that it is going to show the same things. fingers crossed that it is all ok.

Hi everyone. I feel very confused at the moment. Am about 4-5 weeks having slight brownish loss. Am petrified im losing this baby. I have a healthy 2 1/2 yr old girl was bleeding v.heavy at 6-10 weeks with her and in a lot of pain, went on to have a normal pregnancy she is everything to me. When she was having her first birthday I found out I was expecting again but at 7-8 weeks had bleeding which got progressively worse. Scan showed no more baby. Ilost baby naturally. Two months later found out I was pregnant again had bleeding, had scan everything normal found heartbeat. Bleeding became worse had another scan found the heart had stopped and baby had stopped growing a day after my last scan. Had erpc this time. Its been a very long emotional year and have been debating if we should try again, dont know if I could cope with another loss. Choice has been taken out of my hands im going to hope and pray every day. Take one day at a time. Going for blood tests this week and hopefully scan next week. Keep u posted. Good luck to you all xxxxxxxxxxx

Hi, I have 3 children already and was at an age when I thought that I would not have anymore but I became pregnant again, my youngest is 8 years old. My partner and I were really looking forward to it after alot of talking and seemed to be going fine until I reached 6 1/2 weeks, I started to spot brownish discharge, there was not really alot there, then over the next day or two it became slightly more and slightly more reddish in colour. I had an appointment with my GP and she said that although she could see slight bleeding my cervix was closed which was the best position I could be in at this time. The next morning I had to go to the hospital and have a scan they did both belly and internal. The doctor then told me she could not see a heartbeat and the fetus looked 5/6 weeks when I was 7 weeks that day! not doughts about my dates. They arranged for me to go back in one week, which works out tomorrow morning, unfortunately that evening I felt like I was going into labour, it was really bad cramps, I never knew that having a miscarriage this early could be this painfull!, my partner rubber my back for sometime as this seemed to help me, but them as I got up and went to the bathroom unfortunately I miscarried! not a very pleasent experience, and a lot more than I though it would be for my weeks.

The bag seemed intact, although I did not examine it. I thought I would be okish then, but a while later started to get bad cramps again, and passing a lot of blood. I phoned hospital and they told me to come in, I stayed basically 3 hrs they just took blood examined me said should be ok, I passed large blood clot while in hospital, they checked my cervix and said the could not see any more. 1 week later i am still bleeding, thought it was better this morning, went shopping with family, but since then i feel awful and bleeding has got worse, please dont say i need a d & c as it looked complete hoping that was it, does any one know chances of me having one? The 3 children i have were all ok pregnancy wise, just had emergency c section with middle one but gave birth naturaly with last one. Also nearly 19 years ago I lost twins at 25 weeks pregnant, both born alive but died due to immature lungs.

Tracy

I have been having all the pregnant symptoms, dizziness, nausea, backache, cravings, name it all I have. I did have intercourse on my most fertile day my period was expected on nov.3rd nothin came, I took 3 test 1 came back faintly with a pink line 2 other says negative, am now 9 days late, just today went to the bathroom and wipe I see a pinkish brownish discharge am so scared I did call my doc and I'll go see what's wrong, I have a 6 year old girl, this is all kind of new to me coz I never experience any of this 6 years ago. anyone feeling the same.

Marie

I had a ectopic pregnancy in February 2006 this year and am now pregnant again about 4 weeks. I began spotting for a day on which my AF was due and it stopped. I still felt crampy and about a week later began to get bright red bleeding and passed a big clot (sorry to be so graphic!). I was convinced that I had lost the baby because I thought that there was no way I could still be pregnant and pass so much blood. The cramping has not yet subsided but the the HCG levels are still rising rapidly. I have a scan next week, but I am convinced that the early internal scan which I had a two days ago started the bleeding which had now began to subside. I have recently began diagnosed with poly cystic ovary syndrome on the right ovary and a burst cyst on the left ovary (I was devastated I'm only 21). There seems to be alot going on inside my tummy at the moment!. My scan is on Tuesday 17th October 2006 and I am still wondering whether to abstain for two weeks from the scan to allow things to settle a bit. My advice to women out there is to keep positive. The Lord works in mysterious ways and when the odds seem to be against you, you can be amazed with the HCG results. I know that I am by no means in the clear yet but again i'm trying to stay positive. I will however, keep you posted with what happened.

Cherise

Thank you all for sharing your stories, It really helps to know that I'm not alone. I just had a miscarraige on Aug. 26/06 and became pregnant again soon afterward. I'm about 6 weeks right now and this morning I notice a very light pinkish/brownish discharge, I am very scared. When I miscarried it was darker than this, but it's hard to stay positive when you think that your worst fear may come true. It helped a lot to read some of these stories and to know that it has happened to other women. If I go for a scan right now will the baby's heart beat show up? Does anyone know? Hopefully we'll all be fine.

Amy

I am now 5 weeks 3 days pregnant and had been spotting brown blood for 6 days (cervix closed) until yesterday when I started to experience severe lower abdominal pain. I went to the hospital but they said it was too early to do a scan and so they did a blood test. I came home in pain, had pain all day and then all of a sudden it stopped and a lot of blood (brown and red) came out. I think I have miscarried but the hospital say they can’t confirm it until the second blood test tomorrow. Although I think I know the answer, I am a little concerned about what could be left behind.

Can someone help me pls. My situation is driving me nuts.

I started spotting on the 28th day of my cycle, initially, I thought I was having my period, but I discovered that my pad did not stain, but each time I went to the toilet and I wipe myself, I see blood mostly brownish and at times red. This went on for 2weeks and i could not go and see the doctor because i dont have the money and my medical will not be ready until mid June. After two weeks and of spotting, i had sex with my husband that night, and the next day, the spotting got heavier, and even heavier the day after. Today is the 3rd day since the sex and i am no more spotting but bleeding like i usually do the first day of my period. I also feel slight cramps. I forgot to mention that i did a home pregnancy test 5 days after spotting but it showed negative. i have not done another one since then. It is either i did the test too early or i am not pregnant. i really dont have a clue, but i have definitely not experienced this before. I also have breast tenderness which I have had continuosly for more than 3 weeks. I am so confused and I cry everyday. My husband and I want to have children. does anyone there have a clue what is happening to me pls? I have read about all the diseases related to spotting, but i dont have any of the symptoms of such diseases except spotting. Could i be having miscarriage, am i even pregnant at all? do i have a disease? I am so devastated, and I can't even seek for doctor's help.HELP

hello!!! found out I was pregnant about a month ago by doing 2 home pregnancy tests. I had my first scan on 22nd and found out i was 11 weeks pregnant. i'm now nearly 13 weeks and when i woke up and used the toilet yesterday morning i was bleeding, it wasn't enough blood to see in the toilet but we were still worried. i went to see the doctor and was told everything should be fine as long as i didn't have any pain. doctor said if i was still bleeding today i shud see my regular doctor and have him arrange an emergency scan. the bleeding has turned to like a sort of brown discharge today, but has carried on so i went to the hospital and have got a scan booked for tomorrow. i dont feel any different to before i started bleeding and im pretty sure everything is fine and am looking forward to seeing the baby again, even though it's only been 2 weeks since last scan!!! wish me luck

Lisa

Hi everyone, I too am pregnant, my first time. I am 7weeks pregnant tomorrow, but have been having constant spotting since 5weeks. I saw the doc and she just said it was to early to tell, it could very well lead to miscarriage or it could end up being nothing....so in the mean while I just have to wait....Very nervous. I have had absolutely no abdominal pain, my breasts are still tender and somewhat swollen, nauseous etc. I find that the spotting builds up during the day and only becomes visible at night, when I see a little on my panties and when I wipe.

I have been trying to get info online, but there is no sure answer as to what will happen, but reading your stories, give me hope. If anyone can recommend any books or any source of info, please do, it would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck to us all.

Natasha

I did a preg test on 19/9 & to my surprise it showed I was pregnant so we were delighted. I did another 2 tests the next day & both were all positive. The next day after doing the test I had a little brown spotting but as it was only a little bit I thought nothing of it, but the next day it was a little more when I wiped & was started to be a bit more red. I went to the doctors that evening (21/9) & he said a little brownish spotting was quite normal, so I was really relieved, the doc or I had no real idea of how many weeks I was but he estimated at 6-8 weeks (irregular periods meant I couldn't tell when I last ovulated) Last night though (22/9) the bleeding was a little heaver & more red so I went to bed fearing the worst, but this morning a little more came out when I woke up & since then only a little brownish discharge again. I have had no pains so I am really hoping everything is okay, might go to the early pregnancy unit on Mon to have a scan to see if everything is okay & to see if they can tell how far gone I am - will keep you posted. Thank god I found this website - I feel so much better knowing that it might not necessarily mean I will miscarry - Good luck everyone x

I'm 19 years old. I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I to am worried about misscarriage. I had cramping and bleeding but it all seemed to stop after less then a week. I never once had morning siickness only feel tired and my breast are swollen. But the first sign of blood i rushed myself to the emergency to see if it had to due with me having a misscarriage, but lucky the doctor took blood and percribed me to have a ultra-sound the next morning. The blood test came back that evrything was looking good and the next morning after my ultra sound i saw my baby with a heart beat of 130 beats per mintue ( i was SUPER HAPPY) my life is on the ups and downs but i promised myself i'd make it. I usually am the type to eat junk food and drink coke but i stopped all that and been drinking milk ( eww) and eating fruits and less on the spicy stuff. Oh and no more coke LOL. I hear many stories about women having misscarriages and i hope and pry that, that doesn't happen to me. I weight 110 pounds and it is my very First pregnacy. I hope it truens out well and all the best to you moms. Keep your heads up.

I just wanted to say that I am so sorry for everyones loss. I understand and have had two losses, one at 3.5 months and the other at 4.5 months, in the last two years. I am pregnant for the third time, 3 months, and am hoping this is the miracle. I was diagnosed, however, with MTHFR and am being treated. Still, it is not 100% that I will get a baby out of this. This is my last try.

I have irregular periods and this time i went 3month without. I have 3 children,7,6,4 and my husband had a vas 3 yrs ago and now i am spotting just a little and i think i might be pregnant. Has anyones husband had a vas and you got pregnant. He never had it checked.

I think im pregnant.....more like pretty sure i am but i dont have the positive results to prove it yet....but if i am i will be around 5-6 weeks and i just started to spot yesterday... its not like a regular period it started out light pink and got a little redder..its not enough blood coming out for me to change my napkin every hour... yesterday i used the same napkin almost the whole day and when i decided to change it...it still was fairly clean and empty..... the spotting is still continuing but the only symptoms i have is sore breast and they are not very sore ....only when i touch them....the cramping and bloating has stopped ....so i dont know whats going on anymore i will wait until wednsday to get my test results.... i know for sure this is not my period.... i have regular one's and this bleeding started three days after my period was due and i normally have heavy bleeding in the beginning...and this bleeding is more like the end of my period

i am 11wks tomorrow and have been bleeding off and on since about my 6th week. It started as spotting in the beginning and now it is ususally red blood that i have to were a pad for. I have had several pelvic ultrasounds through the vagina and each time the baby is fine. Last night the bleeding started again after a day of cleaing the house and walking through the store. It was heavy right off but slowed down this morning. It is still read but I can see it is gettin a little brown. I hate to go to the bathroom in fear of what my body will be doing next. This is my first pregnancy and I am 32. I decided so far not to go the emergency room because they don't really do anything and I don't like them going down there. I feel what ever is going on I have no control over it so I just pray that God brings this baby to healthy and strong. I think some women just bleed. There are a lot of women that seem to bleed and still have healthy babies. I think we all are lokking for definite answers from other sources but, we are all different. No one really has the answer for someone esle. I hope and pray that everyone's baby is fine including mine and that we all have wonderful, happy, healthy babies. I know it is hard cause I worry too.

I have just lost my first baby in week 7. All I can say is that something was not right on the day it started. I was extremely tearful and tired for no apparent reason. Initially, I confused the cramping pain in my tummy with a urinary tract infection, to which I am prone anyway. But then later I stated bleeding. I feel like I wish I could turn back the clock as I would not have gone to work that day and it might all have been different. The doctors say it is a completely natural process and really there is nothing I could have done.

I have just found out that I've had a missed miscarriage. I started brown spotting at 6 weeks, and all my previous pregnancy symptoms (nausea, fatigue, sore breasts etc.) stopped. Pregnancy tests were still coming up positive though, so I didn't lose all hope, especially as many successful pregnancies can have bleeding or spotting at times. At 7 weeks 2 days I had an ultrasound and my pregnancy sac was empty. I have been offered a D&C but have decided to wait a couple of weeks to see if things can happen naturally. This has all been sooo stressful - if only you could fast-forward from conception to 12 weeks it would save a lot of people a lot of anxiety. Good luck to everyone!
