I'm in my 23rd week now and although I feel pretty huge and my stomach is really tight, I don't seem to have put on much weight. My scales are showing about 8lb, so I might ask when I see the consultant next week. I did read on some websites that they don't weigh you at midwife visits because they don't worry too much about weight now, but I was weighed when I first saw a midwife and when I went to see my consultant at 20 weeks, they weighed me again. I'm not really concerned how much I weigh because I know I'm growing well. Katie had her ballet shows at the weekend, and she looked fantastic in her pochohantas, splish splash and lord of the dance outfits. The auditorium was a fair size but with no air conditioning it was very hot and I can feel myself constantly moving. I couldn't seem to get comfortable in the chairs. My back is starting to ache when I'm sitting down for long periods of time now. It's really weird as I didn't have anything like this when I was pregnant with Katie. This time round had really been so different. I didn't feel tired or have any problems throughout Katie's pregnancy until about the last 2-3 weeks. The heat has not been good for me at all this week, I think it has been far too much. I had a Resident Meeting to attend and it took me about an hour to get there and an hour to get back and then I had to sit in a small meeting room with very little air for about 3 hours. I decided to nip into Asda on the way home and whilst walking round Asda I felt extremely faint and light headed. I ended up sitting on the floor before I fell, people were looking at me gone out. I felt so bad, I was going to ring Paul to ask him to pick me up. I managed to walk to the freezer section and bought some ice pops to put on my pressure points to cool me down. I got in and just dropped on the settee. I felt quite sick all night. On Wednesday I got up as normal for work, and only lasted about 2 hours at work and decided to come home. My legs felt like jelly and I felt sick, it felt like sun stroke, so I spent the day on the settee at home. On Thursday I never even made it into work. By Friday I had started to feel better so I took it really easy and Katie and I decided to have a sort through her toys, we want to try and spend lots of time with Katie before the babies are born, because we don't want her to feel left out. She's had all of our attention for the last 4 years and that is going to half, especially with having two more to look after. Sleeping this week hasn't been good either, I am really struggling to sleep on my back and either of my sides, I seem to be getting a pain on my right hand side which ever side I sleep on. My back seems to ache quite a bit unless I'm standing up or walking around. I can't seem to sit still for long and even in bed in the evenings is becoming worse. The best place I am finding it easy to sleep is on the sofa, so if it carries on, I know where I am going to be sleeping for the next few weeks. We've been out and purchased a moses basket for little ones and over the next few weeks we will be getting things out of the loft and see what we can use from when Katie was a baby. I've decided to ask the sex of the babies when I go for my scan next week. Paul still doesn't want to know so I will keep it a secret because I don't think its fair to Paul for him to accidently find out. I'm really excited about knowing the sex, but I do have doubts because I feel it takes it away from the birth, but I really do want to be prepared for them. I can't believe we have so much to do and so little time, it has gone really quick over the last few months and I can't wait to see my babies again on the screen to see how they are growing. They are moving lots now, Paul asked me what it felt like and I found it really hard to describe how great it felt and what it was like. I said it was like someone poking you in your stomach but with much more intensity but without the pain. Im still waiting to see the foot or hand sticking out - think I'll have a few more weeks before that one happens - I just hope if it happens, Paul and Katie are there to see it too. Hopefully by next week, I will feel much better and this weather isn't so hot. I am so glad we have air con in the office, I don't think I'd be able to cope with the weather if we didn't. See you all next week xx Anita In the Womb - view at 25 weeks
