I've had a pretty busy week this week. Katie settle into school really well and she loves it, so much for me worrying that she wasn't going to make any friends - she's been invited for tea to someone's house next week so we will see how she gets on (with mummy in tow of course). We started on the nursery and decided to change the decor - what I was hoping was not to change all the bedding too, so we decided to keep it to Winnie The Pooh. We changed the skirting, stripped the old paper and put up the new paper, we then realised the carpet and the furnishings just didn't look right so we are in the process of changing this at the minute. Katie has been a star, we have told her that we need to get the nursery decorated first because it's smaller than her room and that we want to make sure her room is just how she wants it. She thinks its great, we've put her in the bigger room because before we knew we were having twins we said she could have the bigger room, so I don't think it's right for us to change it now. Once its all done, Ill put some pictures up of the nursery. Work has been pretty stressful, I am having to carry out all my site visits and resident meetings and then Im having to type up all the minutes etc, so its been really busy. Next month I have my site visits and personal development reviews which I need to carry out with my staff. Work have now sorted out my replacement whilst I am off, and she currently works with us and has been a housing officer for a number of years, so thankfully, that makes my job much easier on the training side. My only problem is I have been starting about 7:30 from home, I then drop Katie off at school around 8:45 and I get into the office / site by 9:15, I should be finishing around 2pm which I have done, but then I come home and start on things in the house. I pick up Katie about 3:15 and then carry on with things at home because I want to get everything sorted out. So by the time tea is done and we've washed up, put Katie to bed etc, its about 7:30 and then I've been starting work again till about 11:30. Paul hasn't been too happy about it, he thinks I am doing too much, but I want to make sure everything gets done. Paul has been working on the nursery every night he has got in from work, so that has made things more difficult and we haven't spent as much time with Katie as we normally do, so I do feel really guilty about that. When I go to bed, I seem to find it hard to switch off and I''m constantly thinking about what I need to do next. I'm also concerned about the money side of things, Paul and I still haven't discussed it and to be honest I don't really want to. Paul keeps asking me to talk about it and what we are going to do, but talking about it is too close to the reality of it. It wasn't so bad when I was on maternity leave with Katie, because I went back to work after 3 months, whereas this time, I just know it isn't possible to go back to work that soon, and if I'm really honest, I don't even think it's going to be possible to go back to work for a few years - now that is really scary. I can't describe how that makes me feel, not only will I feel that I will lose my independance, but I won't be able to go out and buy what I want without having to worry about whether we can afford it or not. Most people at this stage would probably be worrying about the birth, how it will affect the relationship and so on, but to be honest none of that is worrying me. I feel like I will be totally reliant on Paul for money and I find that extremely difficult. I've never been in that position and I cannot say just how difficult I am finding that - I can't even describe it to Paul, I really don't think he will understand fully. I can see why he doesn't have a problem with it as we are a couple and we are together and our relationship is solid, but I am just finding that so hard to deal with. The babies are still moving quite a lot, which I am quite surprised at, I did think that they would slow down a little due to the lack of space, but that doesn't seem to be bothering them at all. Katie had her hand on my stomach when one of the babies kicked her hand, she thought it was great and kept wanting them to do it again. Although I've only put on 10lb, the bump is pretty heavy and its really itchy. I keep putting baby lotion on and some pregnancy cream which I got out of my bounty pack, but it's not really helping it. My heartburn is terrible, I only have to lean forward of lie back and it's there. I started taking water to bed with me, but then I end up going to the toilet 10 times a night (and that''s no exaggeration). I went to see the midwife this week to ask her about a support belt, she told me that she could refer me to the physio but that would take about 3 months - which is no good, as I would have them by then. She told me to go back to my consultant and get him to refer me it would be much easier - talk about being piggy in the middle. I cannot believe the red tape you have to go through, just to get a poxy support belt. Surely, both the consultant and the midwife would be used to being asked about this from pregnant women, especially those who are expecting multiples. To be honest, I have given up about this, by the time it's sorted, my babies will be here. 've also been having the odd Braxton Hick now and then, when I told Paul, he panicked, he asked if that meant I'd be having them soon - he so needs to read up on the baby information. I've been reading my Mother and Baby mag and have done since I was expecting with Katie, Paul used to read it but I think he think's a dab hand at being a dad now and doesn't need to read it. Think he's forgotton lots of it, but I'm sure it will all come flooding back to him when they are here. Well that's all from me this week, I can't believe I'm heading towards week 31 next week - 9 weeks to go!!!!! Take care Anita In the Womb - view at 25 weeks
