Review by Anita on Uncovering Secrets "In The Womb"Over the week, we watched the dvd "in the womb", all I can say is that whether you are expecting or trying for a baby - this is a definate. Its a 100 minutes dvd that takes you through the conception through to the birth and it is full of interesting information. It uses 3D and 4D images of real ultrasound pictures and also transforms these into computer images of how your baby grows, moves, hears, what they do in the womb. It is totally mind blowing. I have read lots of week by week notes on various websites, but nothing compares to this. It is fantastic to see how the makers of this taken each stage of the pregnancy and opened up a little window in the womb and takes you on a breath taking journey through the life of the foetus. Its amazing to see how you little one grows and what they are capable of doing at each stage and just how amazing your body really is. It talks about the sperm and egg stage, dna, genes, the placenta, the gripping and stepping reflex, how the foetus has its own fingerprints at 19 weeks, its just full of so much information that you feel the need to watch it again. Paul and I both watched it in amazement, and we are going to show Katie too. I know she won't understand all of the science bit, but we thought it would be good for her to see just how the baby grows inside mummys tummy. She is always asking us how big the babies are now. I often look at various websites with the week by week stages of pregnancy and always show them to Katie, but I think this would be far more interesting for her to see. Im not too sure about the birthing bit towards the end, as I am not sure if this may be too graphic for her, but certainly the whole growing of the baby. If you haven't already got a copy, then please go out and buy one, it is certainly worth every penny and if you know someone who is pregnant, this is a great pressie for them. If you were like me and thought you knew quite a bit about the baby in the womb, then I would still suggest you buy it, you probably didn't know as much as you think, and even so its fantastic to see and watch rather than looking at still pictures. I have even started to watch it in stages so I can see exactly what stage my little ones are at and what they will be doing. So go on and buy it, its excellent.
