Second Trimester: July 7th - October 5th

Week 14: My older child, Jack had to have operation this week to unblock a blocked tear duct that he's had since birth. They usually clear by themselves but his never has. I've been feeling rough this week but I think it's because I am so worried about the operation. We needn't have worried though, as Jack was a real star and a very brave boy! Just need so much sleep to keep me going at the moment. I am so tired and I'm trying to keep patient with Jack but sometimes I know I am snapping for no reason.

Week 16: Pretty sure I have been feeling the baby squiggle about for the last couple of weeks. Didn't feel Jack until I was gone 20 weeks so it nice and reassuring. Have heard the heartbeat as well at the last midwife appointment, which is always nice to hear.

Week 17: Have been getting very hot this week as we are enjoying weather, but its making me very dizzy so I don't like to go anywhere alone right now. Just want to stop at home which seems such a shame for Jack.

Week 20: Finally had my 20 week scan, feel a bit more optimistic about the pregnancy now and Jack enjoyed watching it too, even said Hello! I wonder if he realises its coming to share his house one day! Stomach is looking enormous, people cant believe I'm only 20 weeks. I think I'm having a small elephant not a baby! We haven't found out the sex of the baby, I did want to know, but changed my mind last minute and I know my husband doesn't want to know either, so it will be a mystery.

Week 23: Oh the joys of pregnancy, I now have been confirmed as having sciatica. I have pains in the bottom right hand side of my back and every now and again they shoot down into my leg and I can't walk, its horrible! I saw the Physio and she has given me some support belts to try and some exercises, so lets hope they do the trick. I also have the worst head cold at the moment so am feeling a bit sorry for myself!

Week 25: Jack starts nursery school this week so I feel really weird. I know I have another baby on the way but feel like I am losing my other baby. I suppose it's all these silly old hormones upsetting me! Jack seems to love school though so that's one less worry.

Week 27: Have started itching over the last few days, I'm finding it hard to breathe well, and have now noticed a rash on my belly and boobs. My Midwife has taken a Full Blood count and a liver function test to rule out anything untoward but right now its driving me insane. I am making my skin bleed during the night where I must scratch in my sleep!
